Naxos in November: Visiting Naxos in the Off Season

In most areas of the world, autumn signals the return of morning frost, layered clothing, and the old, familiar roar of hundreds of leaf-blowers awakening from their summer slumber. But on the island of Naxos, nestled right in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea, there is no frost. There are no sweaters. There are no leaf-blowers, because there aren’t any leaves to blow. Serenity Visiting Playa Coson in the Dominican Republic

A guest post about visiting Playa Coson in the Dominican Republic for labor and fun.

The town of Las Terrenas rests along the northern shores of the Samana peninsula in the northeast region of the Dominican Republic. I visited there twice with groups from my alma mater. The following days, we spent our time at an elementary school within the town to renew the pavement with painted games, and run sports clinics focused on introducing less popular or known sports to young girls. Here is the story of my experience visiting Playa Coson.
